With over a decade of experience in school social work and district leadership, Dr. Phelps infuses innovation into program development and professional development workshops.
Professional Development and Consulting
Dr. Phelps provides workshops and professional development for schools both locally and nationally, as well as for leadership teams, not-for-profits, and community organizations. Specializing in online course design and facilitation, as well as in-person workshops, her focus is on inclusive pedagogy and universal design for learning. Dr. Phelps also offers consulting services to schools and organizations, helping them strategically plan mental health initiatives. Her areas of specialty include mental health, education, leadership, social work, and interprofessional teams. She has helped numerous teams improve their inclusivity practices, build belonging, develop communication structures, and implement conflict management mechanisms.

14 Week Course: Adaptive Liberated Leadership for K-12 Educational Leadership
This course is designed to develop interprofessional change leaders in the K-12
educational sector. This course will support leadership development to cultivate the next
educational change leaders collectively. Throughout this course, learners will utilize leadership
theories, frames, and practices as acts of resistance and liberation to radically re-imagine K-12
educational leadership. Learners will examine self, structures, systems, and cultural norms to
abolish the traditional approach to educational reforms in K-12 education. This course will
prepare liberated leaders for different roles in school and district leadership by deepening
knowledge of leadership theory, practices, and challenges and equipping learners with the tools
to rumble with the complex interconnected systems of oppression in education. The course will
challenge learners to develop, assess, critique, and strengthen their leadership style that
emphasizes liberation and inclusion. The course promotes the examination of concepts of
inclusion, diversity, liberation, and equity from anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, anti-racist, critical
perspectives. The course will examine the realities of liberated leadership within a multicultural
global world. Learners will criticize traditional approaches to leadership as they invent their
leadership style and approaches applied to creating their own business, course, or leadership
approach.
